I'm trying to "edit the slope" -- edit the control points -- of a curve (trying to make a crab claw).

- select the curve, convert type to Bezier
- select the "edit slope" tool

When I click on a control point, it highlights as if editable immediately after I release the mouse. If I click and drag to edit, it tries to drag out a rectangular selection. If I click, it selects briefly then deselects.

I can't seem to actually, like, move the danged control point!

OH! Ok -- the reality is that I just don't understand the curve editor.

I want to trace the claw part of this (without the distortion), add some lettering and a long tail, then extrude the thing into 3D for purposes of making a 3D print.

I'd think I would want to start by tracing it w/the curves editor.

I have found the control spline is much easier to edit in via. Use the smooth tool after free hand spline, then tune each anchor point with deep select - and then tune the slopes, do mix up the order or you just end up with scribbles and kinks. Or this is what I have found to happen.

GAAHHAHAH!

Driving me NUTS.

I was able to edit the anchor points. Now I'm back to not being able to move the anchor points again. I'm using the deep select tool and when I click no the anchor, it briefly looks like it is going to allow me to edit, then it de-selects them.

Huh? Apparently, I have to have some kind of Snaps enabled to be able to select and move a control point. If I disable the snaps, then I can't select and move.

Feels like a bug.
