Can't Find Break in Curve (#4200)

tl;dr Trying to close a curve. Can't figure out how to connect the two end points of a spline to make a closed curve for purposes of 3D extrusion. Below documents what I have tried. ------ I have a spline that seems to be closed; select chain selects the whole thing and there doesn't seem to be any endpoints hanging in the wind. Yet, I can't extrude the thing into 3 space. Verify object shows that it isn't closed. Anyway to figure out where it is open?! ----- Dagnabbit. I found it. The problem is that you have to magnify to about a 10000000x to be able to see the two points that are on top of each other, but not joined. Worse, deep select didn't offer to actually select one vs. the other, so clicking on each "point" to find the "two points" doesn't work. ------ I've tried the join tool, but it wants to join two curves, not a curve to itself. I've tried adding a curve between the two points, but that didn't work, either.

Did you let the Logicursor select an endpoint to snap to when initially trying to close the curve? That method seems to work for me.

I've attached the file; I want to extrude the outline w/the lettering cut out from the extrusion (for the purposes of 3D printing).
So, no, I've had no luck closing the outside curve. Baffled, I am.

I have played with it and found no way to connect the ends of the curve to each other. It may be a rule of curve generation. I was able, however, to close and extrude it by connecting the ends with a short line.

Zoom in on the ends of the curve and place a 'Point' object on one end. Now drag the other end over until it snaps into position on the new 'Point' object. This should have closed the curve and enable it to be extruded OK. Martin.

Brilliant. That worked perfectly. I had not realized the magic that is the point attached to a vertex/end point. I'll post the results once I dump the STL, slice, and print.... (Yes, swizzle sticks for a party.) THANK YOU!

This happens to me all the time when I forget to generate the outline with Workplane Snaps enabled.
But to join the curves if you don't mind the tiny jog in the curve just enable snaps endpoints and connect with a line. (see video)
