I have one skinned surface and two surfaces of revolution and would only like "half" of all three. how do I subtract/loose/trim/...... half of a surface?? imagine cutting three surfaces on a band saw and removing half of each to enable "seeing" the inside of the surfaces.

You can use the Infinite Plane Tool, take care of the orientation,
then apply the Split Surface Tool et voila !

progress, but still no joy! splitting the skinned surface "ADDS" a plug.....??

Exported as .sat, import as .sat create a plane, use plane as clipping plane.
