Hi,

I have a model I built from merging small pieces.

It does not 3D print properly.

So now I am trying to create one solid by extruding my outline

But my multiline tool does not create the closed shape and the extrusion fails.

I follow the video tutorial exactly and do not see any additional steps I should be taking.

I tested the extrusion using a circle and it works fine.

I was also able to create a shape and extrude it previously with this version so I am extra confused as to why it is now not working.

Is this a known issue with OS X ViaCAD 2d3D 9?

When I upgraded to the latest version a few weeks ago I did not notice any improvements and some functions got flaky.

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Hi

Are you trying to extrude that "X", because that doesn't look like it's closed, or "hollow inside"?
It is hard to tell from the picture though, got the sample file?

Mike

PS I have just tried this in SharkFX 1200, and double clicking the closed or end point of the multiline, doesn't create a "smart" shape, but a series of single lines.
Something has changed from previous, as it doesn't work as I remember, and there's no option for making a "smart" outline either.
The workaround is to select over them all, and Group the lines together, then Extrude the Group.
