Hello everyone. I just started playing with and using ViaCad v9. I will be using only the 2D functionality of the software for my drafting. I will need to make some cut lists with the bom tool. I have been successful at making my first cut list as I experiment during my learning process. However, here is my question, how can I get the list to populate the thickness of each piece in the list? I'm not sure if this is possible being that I'm doing it in 2D with smart polygon tool. I am glad I decided to sign up with the forums. There seems to be lots of useful info in here. Thank you for your help.

The default CutList BOM grabs the thickness from the geometry. In the case of the 2D polygon it is setting the thickness always to zero.
You might need a custom 2D Cutlist. I made a quick one that might work for you and is attached.
You will need to enter in a thickness when you attach the attribute to the polygons.

Thank you Tim. I did see that I can edit the cut list and manually enter the thickness for each piece. I was hoping it would auto generate like it does for the other numbers. But with it being 2D, I wasn't sure how. I'll look at your example Monday. About to go home for the weekend. I just wanted to acknowledge your reply. Enjoy the weekend.

I'm trying to view the file you sent, but I can't figure out how to open it in viacad once extracted.

As you can see in the image, I created 8 rectangles (11x7) and 2 squares (7x7) and placed them in an oval shape. the rectangles are all named the same and the squares named the same as well. When creating the cutlist, it made a list item for each piece and even gives the wrong dimensions for each. Is there a setting to change this? Or do we need to do this differently?
Thanks

This is a text file that goes into the BOM folder located within the app bundle/program folder. Once you place the file, launch ViaCAD and the next time you display the attribute dialog box, you will see a new attribute for a 2D cultist. With this attribute type, you can manually assign the thickness.

It might be doing a Length, Width, Height based on the extents in the global coordinate system. For a polygon, it should extract directly from the object. Will check into...

I updated the software to extract the actual Length and Width attributes from Smart Polygons for the next beta builds (1196).
Example attached using the 2D Cutlist attribute. The Length and Width are extracted from the geometry. The thickness is somehting you assign.
