                HI,
I'm trying to create a solid or surface along a path (in this case a spiral) with various cross sections along the path at different points (in this case a number of circles with different diameters).
I used the "guide skin surface" tool but the resulting surface does not closely follow the path. I have tried different options with this tool.
Is there a better way?
I'd like the path to be followed exactly.
Thanks.

                Hi Mark,
as far I know the guides must touch the section curves.
It might be easier to create a straight skin surface over different cross section curves, and bend this surface in a second step around the target path.
Tim made a video about the required steps:

I've asked for this surface type several times from Spatial. I'll keep asking... Tim

George, Thanks - your tips are very helpful and the video was great. I also noticed that the guides need to touch the section curves and tried it but that approach did not produce desired results. Perhaps some tweaking is also required. But your bend surface idea will do the trick for me.
