Hi New to Viacad 9 and I am starting to plan a new layout for our shop. I have the outside walls set up and I am not trying to insert sliding doors. Seen the tutorial and tried it, but keep getting the error message 'Not enough space for wall feature' I cannot work out what I am doing wrong. The wall is 45 metres long and the dorr is 8 metres along. I have tried changing the thickness of the walls, but no joy. What am I doing wrong? Thanks Brian

Could you possibly have extra walls drawn on top of one another. That message is when the wall you picked to add the door is less than the door length. Or are you adding the door near another wall say in a corner and the swing 8m of the door would interfere with the wall?
Try drawing somewhere off to the side of your current drawing a new single wall 45 m and then try to add the door.

Thanks Jason. I checked and do not have a wall on top of another. Also made a new 45 metre wall and tried to insert all types of door, but still get the same error. Regards Brian

Brian What build of the program are you running its in the help about (build #)? Which version of ViaCAD are you using? Can you post a screenshot of the wall setting you are using. Can you place a door if its smaller in size like 1 m? Thanks Jason

Thanks Jason
Build 1109 Viacad 3D 2D 9.
I tried a 1m door and the same error.
I have attached 2 screenshots of the wall and door settings.
What does the offset do when putting in a window?
Thanks
Brian

The offset is the distance the feature is placed from ref wall. See pics. When you are clicking on the wall location to add the door are you too close to the corner?

Thanks Jason
I am in the middle of the wall and have also tried various places.
When I click on the position i want the door nothing happens. I then move further along and click aghain and the error comes up.
Looking at the tutorial video you set the width and click where you want it. A door is then put in and you can adjust it.
I cannot get this to happen.
Thanks
Brian

I added the door and reattached the file. I believe that this was fixed in a newer version, as I could not get it to work in version 1109 either. I export the file as V8 so try that

Hi Jason In your last post you mention that you thought this was fixed in a newer version, but when I check I am told I have the latest version. How can I get a version that works?. Thanks Brian

Hi Brian I would suggest using the link Jason provided and ask Encore Technical Support for the "ViaCAD 2D3D 9 SP1 pre release" to solve some issues with inserting wall features. Regards Tim
