Back in May I upgraded from ViaCAD 2D/3D V8 to V9.

V8 allowed me to dimension features in the individual views
after doing a model to sheet. I can't seem to do this now.

I can click and select the origin point of the part in
the view but cannot snap to any other vertex, end of line,
center, or mid-point to complete the dimension. I have the
same issue drawing lines too. Except for the origin I
cannot snap to any other point.

Any ideas?

Running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

Update, I opened the Bracket.vc3 example file, did a model
to sheet. Everything works fine however I cannot get this to
work on anything I create.

All the Best,
Doug W.

Hi Doug

The items you create are these using model to sheet or items you add to an existing draw view.

Also, what is your build number?

Smart Dimension won't even find the origin point. I have to select
vertical or horizontal to get it.

Hi Doug

I will private email you links this weekend to the upcoming service pack for ViaCAD 2D3D 9 Win. I'd like to see if it is fixed in a more current build.

Regards

Tim

Somehow I have two user accounts.

Here's a little more information.

I have my model displayed as a wire frame. It is displayed in a top view.
I do a model to sheet by window selecting the objects to create the sheet
from. I cannot dimension inside the views on the sheet.

If I have my model displayed as a solid and displayed in a top view I can do
a model to sheet by clicking on the top surface. I can then dimension in the
views created on the sheet.

All the Best,
D. White
