I like Tim's demo of importing a PDF and scaling it for dimensions.
http://www.csi-concepts.com/Demo/videos/Tracing.mp4 Last year I followed this tutorial, using a jpeg. The trick was to save the jpeg at the proper resolution before importing into ViaCAD Pro 9. At that time last year I was using a 4 year old 21" iMac with up to date OS X for that time.
I'm pulling my hair out. It seems anything (jpeg, PNG, or PDF) I import or open in ViaCAD Pro 9 imports as a black box with a SMALL corner portion of my image at the bottom. Most of the image is missing.
Using iMac 27" Retina, latest Mavericks.
I need to trace some PVC plumbing. Took photos with iPhone 5.
I've tested with same exact images I did last year successfully, and now I can NOT replicate what I did, using same images I imported into ViaCAD. I now get the black box.
I've tried various software to prepare the images, like Affinity Designer, Photoshop, Pixelmater and Apple's Preview. None help.
What am I missing? A preference? I don't think there was an update on ViaCAD, so using same app version.
I've attached both images. One from the camera (iPhone) and other is results of opening image in ViaCAD. I have used both OPEN and IMPORT, both with same results.
(Sorry, I can't seem to attach my files, the option doesn't seem to appear)
How do I attach files?
