I bought ViaCAD 8 and downloaded it from your site. Few days ago, I saw that it is available from the Mac App store. Is it possible to install it from the App store without buying it again. Then the update process is much simpler, and there are other advantages as well.

No sorry. The app store build is a different compiled build to meet Apple's registration process.

So you are going to maintain two parallel versions, one for the App store and one for direct download?

Yes, the App store has very specific registration requirements. It is the same code as the direct version (and pc versions) but with a different flag indicating the registration scheme.
