hallo,

is there any possibility to save my own material in the properties list. An can i delete the materials i do not need ?

And i would like to have the result in grams. For Silver, Platin and the different gold versions.

so: if i insert the specific weight the result show me numbers like: 1.67e+04. I do not understand this.
How do i get a result in grams?

Yes we can and we'll have to manually mess with the materials.ini file. Please see http://forum.punchcad.com/showthread.php?t=3895

edit: to use grams, maybe try this... in the Verify-Properties box, select "millimeter" in the middle-right side for the units and then check/select "Use grams".
To change the overall units... maybe try this... go to File-Preferences, and click on Units. Then select the unit type at the top-middle of this box.

Have fun. bye.

thanks Phil,

i tried it, also as shown in the thread you linked.
Now my material will pop up in the menu, but will not give the weight. it shows only 0.0 ?!

so far i select 'use grams' all the time.

see my file: material.ini
File Attachment(s):
Materials.pdf (34kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

hi Andreas, I pasted it in and oh yes indeed I got all zero's too!

I think the reason it was not working is probably in the material properties section (further down the middle/bottom section of the file; not the top section). Try this:
- edit [Silber] to [Misc.Silber]
- edit [750] to [Misc.750]
- edit [feingold] to [Misc.feingold]
- edit [Platin] to [Misc.Platin]
I made those changes to the headers and it works now!! (The ini/text file also has to have the correct CR/LF line spacing.)

Have fun there. bye!
