New Cheat Sheet Cards Obtainable? (#5118)

Sorry to be a pain:o. Thanks for the info on the documentation to the new Mesh and Subdivision tools in ViaCAD Pro 9.:D "Quad Mesh Modeling" P.359-367 Chapter 39.
I looked for the pages but I didn't look hard enough apparently.
Anyway I like the cheat sheets I got and I scanned in my desktop of the tool palettes. But unfortunately the physical cards I have don't have the updated Mesh/Subdivision tools.
Is there a PDF or a way to purchase or download or screen capture the latest Tool Palettes for V 9? The one with the new Mesh Subdivision tools.
Dave

I did not until now realize this site existed. How long has it been up?

The "Preview Layers" tool is neat! Tim, this could serve as a viewer in the event we have drawings to share, but to not want to really be "readable/editable". The PL tool could probably be a for-charge add-on tool if you want to generate some revenue. If it could allow rudimentary walk-through along a path (allow the Viewer recipient to create spline-based paths and maybe some basic timing-setting and maybe dim/low/normal/bright lighting settings (and maybe just that) so the recipient can use the model and not need VCP/Shark. But, to generate more sales, you could temp them with discounts on purchases at various quantities. Or, a basic viewer could be free, but then a more advanced Tim-created viewer could be charged for. If it is basic enough, and uses exactly what is in SLT/SFX already, then it might be relatively easy to step around/avoid assailing patent assertions by other parties. Cheers!

Cool.
I was sort of trying to create a PDF version (merging the old scanned in cards with the new Mesh tools either from Screen capturing from ViaCAD or the PDF user manual) using Photoshop. Not as easy as it looks. Items are of course shifted.
I have to learn how cut and paste patterns because the backgrounds of the icons on the cheat sheet are not solid color backgrounds.
Of course for my first attempt I could just try with solid backgrounds since the more important task would be to see the visual icons spread out correctly with some text indicating what kind of tools they are like the other icons (good luck on my figuring out what the font is). I don't know if the 2D had any changes. Possibly create new text from scratch.

Hi Tim, I was working on creating my own version of a "cheat sheet".
I still have many details to fix and not sure how to handle the yellowish pattern as the background of the tools. Not sure what the font was... I was using Arial Rounded (thinner) at 6pts.
Anyway later on I was thinking... oh I forgot about copyright infringement!:o:( I took out the bottom copyright (2007) to make the document more generic. I scanned in some from the old cheat sheet and some from the V9 application.
So I guess I wanted to ask you if I give you the .PDF, .PSD etc and let you distribute it and not me,.... if that would ok? Again I'm not done with it yet.
I sort of wanted to try to update my Photoshop skills and so I took on this project on my own. I know you will be able to make it perfect later but I thought a temporary cheat sheet would be nice to have.
Well let me know your thoughts about sharing/distributing this document.

If you could provide a PDf when you are finished, I'll post it at the masterviacad.com resource site.

Got your message. Very good. :) I'm close to done with it. I didn't check to see if the 2D needs updating. But if it does I'll work on that too. I'lll let you know when it's done. Right now I'm house sitting somewhere from my main computer but can work a bit on it on my laptop using a portable drive. Dave

I also renamed the 3D Cheat Sheet and uploaded a new version on that cheat sheet thread under GENERAL.
Wasn't sure if where on your site the cheat sheet links were either.

Thanks David! I'm going to add these under the Resources section at masterviacad.com. Can I give you a credit on the resource link? "Reference Cards courtesy of David Vicks." Tim

You probably know this but the email

I wanted to request I get the PDF (with updates) of the Tips and Tricks book I bought.
Your email rejected
[email protected] . I am not sure if
[email protected] works or not.

Late response and a little weird but
I didn't want to clutter the blog for a "thanks" message but I thought people will only see it if they "dig in" to the thread... so... "I'm glad you liked the cheat sheet 😊
Thanks
