Hi All,

Here is an overview of the covering tools found in ViaCAD and Shark.

http://www.csi-concepts.com/Dem...ncedCoveringTutorial.pdf

I still need to go through the tutorial and mention which features are in Shark vs ViaCAD.

Here are two SAT files that I use to test filling and capping with the G1 Cover tool.

It crunches for a bit, but produces some interesting covers.

I rebuilt the SAT file, try download again from above post and see if that works.

Yup, very good indeed...if only I didn't need to go back into Rhino for a good quick zebra analysis

Current zebra is using pixel by pixel analysis which is why it's so slow, no AA. Increasing the resolution does help with current zebra plots which are based on facet vertices and normals.

I have implemented OpenGL environment maps as a surface verification option which you should be able to test in the not to distant future.

As I mentioned in post http://forum.punchcad.com/showp....php?p=5316&postcount=29 there does appear to be a problem with the zebra with the actual output,.. well certainly I cannot understand what/why it is showing what it does.
As another example, I have a sphere with a flat, but looking at zebra both front and back veiws have the same result,... how could that be possibly correct?

Not sure yet, we're still working on it. We're looking at moving away from pixel by pixel analysis to OpenGL environment mapping similiar to what some other packages are doing. So far it looks very promising.

:) It will be a good improvement. Being able to dynamically rotate the model and look for surfacing issues is very handy.

Having opengl reflected faces will be a HooJ improvement

The 'double horizon' envmaps in the library should hopefully give us an effect close to that of Alias StudioTools

I vote one of those as default !

Tim - I've very interested in seeing those particular backdrops in a dynamic envmap scenario for surface eval purposes !!
