Hello, I am curious as to when the user guide was created. As from some of the examples, such as "Surface match" and "Skin with guides" are not repeatable with the current versions of VC/Shark. I would like to see the version of VC pro/Shark where these functions actually work as advertised. awaiting with interest, - Steve

Hello Steve Just tried similar geometry to that in examples on pages 279 and 314 of manual with current shipping version of Shark and didn't find an issue, can you post an example file where you see these functions fail? All the best Nick

Hi Nick, In my user manual page 279 = "One rail sweep"and page 314 = "Cylinder diagonals", is that what you checked? Try the examples I mentioned in the first post. "Surface match" and "Skin with guides" - Steve

Hello Steve I was using Shark manual as opposed to ViaCAD manual and I checked Skin with Guides and Surface Match and both seemed to work fine with the geometry I used. All the best Nick

From the user manual the surface match shows 2 planes, when that is done the match is corrupt. Please do post your file for this, as that would mean this is fixed at last.

Hello Steve Looking at my manual the example is not 2 planes but 2 surfaces with straight edges and a curved common edge. Also if you look closely control curves are splines not lines. Will try using lines as per your example. All the best Nick

Nick, I think this is part of the problem with the manual, they don't go into enough detail with more complex examples. The help examples included with the application are far better, but then only really cover basic ground. (partly the reason why I sort of gave up on the VC manual).
This area could be much improved- and I think, would really help sell the application suite.

Here is a pic of what you put forward:
I suppose if I keep trying different shapes of surfaces then maybe I will get the match to work. But I prefer a surface match to work with the surfaces I want to match.
