I can understand your frustration.

I don't really know how it operates around here, but I get the feeling that Punch are a very small company, that are only connected to Tim by a name. I also imagine that Tim has been assigned extra personell to help with the coding, but I reckon that there isn't much to do with admin, apart from Tim?

I had similar teething problems too, and it was a couple of weeks before Tim got back, but in the meantime I just got on with something else.

Sorry I cant be of more use.

I know it doesn't help anyone, but I just paid on-line, and downloaded viacad v6 from the upgrade link, and had my new serial number and authorisation code emailed to me all within a few minutes, so it does work at least sometimes!

Hi Ian! fwiw, that's exactly how it worked with me too, but I've also got my spam filters turned off (because I was having similar problems where my ISP was being filtered by its own filters!! Funny, but also highly irratating because last year we got turned off, and had to wait a week before getting reconnected :( )

Looking forward to getting my iPhone! ;)

edit- whoops- Steve- try your spam filter- it could be that?

That is the upgrade, the link to make new purchase was still going to version 5. That is now corrected.

The link should now be correct for direct purchase, but the authorization code is not e-mailed for new purchase, there is a need to first register the product, then an authorization code is given.

I dont use, or actually need a spam filter, I simply do not get spam, if I do, then that e-maill address is removed so they have further spam returned.

Tim sent me a link for V6 download, I just now need to install/register. But I think I will install it onto a laptop, then if/when I purchase pro/shark, that will go on my main box.

LOL! That is EXACTLY what I used to say. I don't know what the hell happened but these days I get more than plenty emails from Mr Immanuel Isondu from the Nigerian government with his unfeasibly large wad of ca$h that he is more than willing to share with me  LOL!

Mr Isondu will get you in the end! Mark my words!! LOL!

Curious,
I notice the trial I downloaded is:- ViaCAD2D3DV6Trial786 Yet the full purchased program directly from Viacad website is:- ViaCAD2D3D738COM

Not I hope, a program that requires a downloaded auto installed patch?

The trial is for the new Version of the software ViaCAD v6. ViaCAD build 738 is the older version 5. When purchasing from the website you will be purchasing version 6 which is exactly like the demo you are viewing.

Also, The demo for Shark FX has no limitation on it compared to the full versions. It is a 14 day full trial.

The demo of shark FX is save disabled. To get a fully working trial you must contact support to get an authorization code for the 14 day trial.

You have to admit Todd, Steve's got a very good point there. I think this is something that you Punch guys are going to have to readdress sometime :D

I also think that in the demo, the "save to file" for the renderer should be disabled, as it is now, shark FX demo can be used as a free 3rd party renderer.
