Great toy story, modeling and rendering... it could be a good advertising for the software ! JL

And a good way of lining up software partnerships too? Modo for one?

....very much guys, glad you like this rope-Dancer ! Viacad and Modo make a nice combination for me.. but i have to add here that the .obj files comming out of viacad are not always very workable once imported in Modo So sometimes i have to use MoI as a iges to obj converter. and even MoI makes a mistake once in while;-) So..the right conversion-method for transporting a model succesful between applications...remains a very delicate step !

Interesting- because I've found that importing OBJ files into Cheetah3D has given me a few headaches- mainly with flipped normals, but I have had no problem importing from VC into Autodesk 3DS Max.

Hmm- I'm slowly changing my mind, as I too have been running into some new problems.

Corien, I seem to be having better success now (fingers crossed). I'm; 1. Exporting from VC as an OBJ file 2. Importing into 3DS Max as OBJ 3. Exporting from 3DS as a 3DS file 4. Re-importing as 3DS file. (Now I can explode faces, and apply textures as if the model was originally built in 3DS). Perhaps the same behaviour is possible in Modo? Tom
