                Hi all,
This is a ViaCAD Pro newbie user. I'm trying to extrude the little rectangle of the give file along the curve by using the "One Rail Sweep Solid" tool and I always get the message: "Gaps detected in profile! Fix the gap and try again".
My question is pretty simple: how can I find the gap? Is there any helper to ease this task?
Thanks.

It's your choice of tool. For VC/Shark, it's a sweep, not an extrude, maybe you confused them? In VC2D/3D, I'm able to sweep each line and stitch to solid. In the Shark beta, it sweeps fine as solid. It might be how you're selecting the profile?

Usually when the error message comes up it also highlights the gaps with a small marker. See attached picture.
I swept your profile with no error, it was a polygon so it was closed already? I had to convert to curves and move one of the end points to generate an error.

That's probably just a point of vocabulary Zumer, my point is : I want to make a 3D volume by modeling the given rectangle along the given curve. And for this, I chose the One Rail Sweep Solid tool which seems to be perfect for my need.

A little help would be appreciated to understand how it works, I did the following actions:
1. Select the rectangle
2. Select the One Rail Sweep Solid tool
3. Select the curve
-> And I get the error, but I think to know why...
If I do differently:
1. Select the One Rail Sweep Solid tool -> The tool helper says "Select closed profile to sweep"
2. So I choose the rectangle, the the tool helper says "Select curve(s) for sweep path"
3. So I choose the curve, so the helper says "Select surface/solid to sweep to" and...
I don't know what to do and select at this step.
Any help? Thanks.

HI Romuald
The dialog your are describing is the option in the drop down box at the top "to an object", change the drop down to "curve extents". Try "sweep in place" and "curve extents" as you setting to sweep your profile.
