Hi Guys,

Need a bit of help here, I have been making drawings and saving them under .sfx

Then I do the draw view to generate a .dxf files for our CNC router's Toolpath software.

Sometimes this software just does not read my DXF properly, but the steps I take to get my DXF files are always the same.

Has anyone else have experienced this problem?

Why don't you export as iges as it can export lines?

I have never had opening issues with .dxf, .igs, or .dwg.

I use bobcad too. Since you already have the solid, just import that into bobCAD and extract the lines for the tool paths from within bobcad. You could also use the 3d model and use that as your tool path if you have the advanced features in bobcad to route the part.

I had a very bad experience similar to this, i waste two days or more once trying to fix it, i did all, redrew, check different dxf versions, and so.

At the end, the problem was that my cam software (the one that generates the tool path) doesn't recognize invalid characters, (in my particular case was the "" letter), so, none of the folders/files names in the path should content invalid character (some times a simple space is invalid),

I see an " ' " on your file's name, maybe that is the root of your issue, also, check the folder's name for the path where the file is stored.

The only files that the CNC Router will read are DXF's. The name of this software is Toolpath.

Most of the times, I model something, save the dwg under .sfx, then then make a new Draw View.

I will then copy the part into the Draw View.
Draw view settings are, top, pick scale 1:1, pick edges --> precise curve

after everything is set, pick flatten draw view

select geometry export dxf/dwg with selected only checked

Not everyone supports draw views, so flatten is a good idea.
