When will we be seeing multiprocessor support in Punch software?
Imagine what the performance would be like if you could use your 4 or 6 processors at once!

rendering, i.e. generating 'dumb' raster data, can be sliced nicely in several ribbons which can be spreaded over several threads/cores. Modeling operations not, at least I dunno no recent modeler capable in doing this.

Seems that Moi3d is handling multicore for modeling on beta version 3, according to several posts in this thread:

http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=5252.5 http://moi3d.com/forum/index.php?webtag=MOI&msg=5252.42

there are a good comments about this feature.

Currently only in the PhotoRendering. Spatial announced with R23 some multi-threading for facetting.

The also announced 64 bit support for Mac OS with R23.

Hopefully V9. However R23 is not yet ready for Mac. Spatial is still 4-6 weeks away from releasing the mac version. Still getting clarification on whether multiprocessor support is available for mac as well as the new direct SolidWorks translator.
