After a lengthy absence from ViaCAD 2D/3D V6 I saw today that an update was available. Downloaded and installed the patch/build 852.

Question I have.....what does it do? I don't see any noticeable difference.

Thanks Steve, I was kind of hoping it would fix a problem I have with ViaCAD.

Every few minutes VC hangs and I need to go to Task Manager to 'end the process' but cancel it rather than go ahead with it. That way I can continue working but it's annoying to say the least hence I have been using other CAD program.

If you can reproduce the steps then you should report it.
Post here then others can see if they can also reproduce the problem

Could it be a problem with the display driver?

You might have a point there..... now that you mention display driver I think it happens when I do a lot of zoom in/out (which I do frequently)

Doesn't happen with Alibre though and neither does it happen with Vectric Aspire and because of the maximum 3 installations I have installed VC only on my laptop (Acer Travelmate 2410 series , XP Pro SP3)

There is a bug thread concerning problems with wheel mouse zoom http://forum.punchcad.com/showthread.php?t=2458 Could that be the same problem? If it is, then you should add to that thread.
