One of the tools that I use the most is the cut-out solid tool, or as I tend to think of it the extrude negative tool. An addition that I would like to see is to make negative versions of the other extrude tools: Extrude MidPlane = CutOut MidPlane Lathe = Lathe a CutOut One Rail Sweep = One Rail Sweep CutOut Two Rail Sweep = Two Rail Sweep CutOut I understand that most of these options would not be needed as much as the basic tool, so either they could be options of the root tool, or options for the CutOut tool. I just want to avoid extruding a solid, then boolean cutting it away from another solid creating unnecessary steps and history that is difficult to modify at a latter point.

>>and history that is difficult to modify at a latter point. Yup. I think this is a great idea. I need a consistent way to add to the UI. Tim

In that vane/vein vain, how about a "girder maker" Sweeping a wire or surface profile of a girder's web and flange in ONE step would be an immense time-saver. Even more of a time-saver would be some sort of way to in numerical input manipulate th dimensions of the web and flange by surface or wire value. An auto-perpendicular-realign of the wire T of a girder against a surface or solid start point through end point along a curve (especially a projected curve that becomes a spline in or on the surface or solid) would be nice, too, to speed up sweeping girder-like profiles.

You could call these tools "Cuts" such as "swept cuts", "Cut along spline", "Cut by extrusion", "Cut along Helix" and so on?

Tim, Any chance of getting this into V9?

In the next upload I added a third option called "Along Path". So the Cutout Solid tool now has the following options; Vector Distance Along Path Tim

I also added an Along Path option for the Protrusion Solid tool. Vector To Face To Body Distance Along Path Tim
