Shark (and ViaCAD) have grown up very much respecting the design workflow of the excellent Adobe Illustrator app.

Thus, many of us use Shark and Illustrator as complimentary design tools

It's TERRIFIC (ie ESSENTIAL) to be able to take linework from Illustrator and use it in Shark ... and visa versa

I'd like to propose that we take this symbiosis another step forward ... and streamline this workflow further

Specifically ... on command 'Paste', Shark/ViaCAD should assess the clipboard ...

... If the source is 'Illustrator', the data should be processed instead by the 'Import Illustrator' File procedure

I'm not sure if this is even possible as I imagine Copy and Paste are the responsibility of the OS

Seamless copy / paste with Illustrator would be a HoOoJ time saver with regard the Illustrator / Shark Workflow

(If I try this currently by the way, I just get GARBAGE - and that can't be right either).

Yes! Thanks for suggesting this Jol.

I frequently use illustrator for freeform curves that become applied molding. But it would be nice if instead of having to import, copy and paste worked smoothly.

The opposite would be good too, because when i make assembly instructions i have to export each step of many. Copy/pasting the art directly into illustrator would make life a lot easier for me.

Yes - a file menu item may be required here - 'Copy for Illustrator'

And, while at it, please make it possible for VCP and VC 2D/3D copy and paste-capable between multiple app instances. For anti-crash protection and to reduce lost time, I open a 2nd instance of VCP when a wonky set of geometry likes to take down VCP. I hate the crash taking with it all my other open files in a single instance of VCP. But, that makes is impossibel to directly copy vetted geometry and forces me to use file-save-as. Export/Import is not always viable since whole tree structures (even if emptied, even when "export selected only") come in, so file-save-as- sometimes is necessary for those cases when I don't need the tree structure as a template for a new file.
