can't reinstall Shark 5 from CD (#3787)

I upgarded to a new drive on my MacPro Tower. I decided to start from scratch and reinstalled OSX, and every other Application. So much faster... EXCEPT, When I try to install Shark 5 from the CD it says " Installer": "This installer requires admin privileges to run". The only option to click is "Quit". I am logged in as an Admin. I tried installing from CD, I copied the file to an external drive and I get the same message. I have also repaired permissions. What do I do to solve this? Thanks, Norbert

Have you tried just copying the app with all it's associate files over from your old drive? Shark should create a new preference file on first run, and ask for registration etc.

I tried that and it doesn't work. There is a much older thread that brought the same problem up, but no solution was posted.
See screenshot for what happens.

Norbert,
Try downloading the latest version from:
http://www.csi-concepts.com/Dem...FXV7/SharkFXV7SP1967.dmg If that still does not work there might be something weird with your install of OS X. Make sure to use the combo updates and not point updates to get up to date. Sometimes reinstalling the last combo update will also fix things.

Just downloaded and installed fine, just like all the other software that I have been reinstalling off CDs, DVDs. I did the combo updates, etc. That's how I always do them also rather than the small "Software Update" increases in the Preferences. There has to be a simple solution here...

a known problem installing old Shark/ViaCAD releases under recent OSX versions.
for an installation under OSX v10.6 SnowLeopard the entry 'Require Admin" in the "Installscript.plist" from DMG\Resources needs to be changed from 'TRUE' to 'FALSE'.

there was no flux compensator at the time the installation was developed sothat issues with future OSX versions couldn't be evaluated...
