Hi There,

So far I'm enjoying learning ViaCAD and other drafting programs after using AutoCAD since 1996.

Even with the User Guide, however, I can't figure out how to get the proper line weights and types when I print to PDF.

This is what I've done so far, please tell me what I'm doing incorrectly:

I have pen weights assigned to each object;
all the objects are either white or gray;
I am using a dwg file from a 3rd party and ripped their title block - it's live around my 2D line drawings;
The print scale is 1/2" = 1'-0" and it prints properly - size-wise - to a 24"x36" Arch D sheet;
I'm on an iMac OS X;
When I print I select PDF ---> Save as PDF
When I open the pdf file all the lines are the same weight and none of my dashed lines are actually dashed.

PS: I'm used to using color to denote line weights as I draft but then they still have color when I print to PDF. I'm sure there must be a way to change that?

Thank you for the suggestion.

I have now tried setting the scale to 5 and to 10 and the dashed lines are still not printing as dashed and the line weights are still not appearing properly.

I'm going to see if I can print to PDF rather than save to PDF and see if that makes a difference.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

PS: I did not see a link to download v9.

If I understand you correctly, you're saying all the object I want dashed - or not continuous, anyway - need to be user-defined line type styles. I will try to figure out how to make a user-defined line type style.

I am not taking the model to sheet approach as the title sheet I need to use is in the model. Is this one reason why the line types are not showing up in the print?

When playing around with the model to sheet setup I was unable to make a new sheet file with my client's title blocks because I was unable to find the folder in which to create a vct file.
