Changing the scale of a drawing. (#4559)

I have a question about scale on a drawing and am wondering if I am going about this the right way I have created a drawing with a title box for drawing details, date etc. I want to make a series of drawings using this layout, editing the text as necessary. I open the drawing with the title box and start drawing. As the drawing grows I realise it is not going to fit on the size paper chosen so I need to reduce the size of the parts drawn to half size but need to dimention them to true size. If I scale the objects they are dimentioned at the new size, so how do change the scale . I need the tiltle box to remain as drawn so only want to scale the actual components drawn. This is a 2D drawing in Viacad 2D3D

do not mix up the true size of the geometry with the drawing scale which is needed for outputing a big object on a small paper only. Keeping this in mind never do scale the physical size of the geometry/model because then all sizes and consecutively dimensions are wrong resp. need to be calculated manually as in those times on the drawing board. Use the model-to-sheet (MTS) functionality instead (palette over the magnifier) for having the geometry in a view of the desired scale as well as the sheet layout incl. drawing head in 1:1. If this seems to be to complicated, you can of course simply use a bigger sheet layout. For printing the drawing scale can be configured at "File > Page Layout..." based on the paper size/orientation configured under "Print Setup...". Be aware that many printers are not able to print to the paper margins sothat an uncut paper size is required to fully print the sheet layout resp. without scaling down to the printable area. hth, Norbert

Thank you for your advice. I could not get on with the model to sheet ,( I expect I am doing something wrong!) as this seem to produce 3D views of my 2D drawing. I have however found a way to achive what I wanted. I have drawn the title box and border twice the size I want and saved it. I can open the title drawing and draw my odjects inside it and then set the scale to 1:2 from the printing menu.

Thanks for that tip Posh.de. This might be why on screen Korean fonts in my drawings looked horrible. I did not think to do MTS to see if any visual improvements would happen. Currently, in workspace, the fonts look clipped, and sometimes feel uneditable. But, i definitely will need to print in Asian or maybe just Korean font with English. I am using VCP 7, SP1, version i do not recall just yet.
