I am working on a variety of translucent plastic products and I cannot get the settings right. If I use clear plastic I can't seem to get the sort of light translucent colors I want. If I change the transparency I get something strange with some surfaces having different properties than other surfaces. When I try glass I get some sort of "uberglass" which has reflections going crazy. Again, when I try and make the materials colored and more transparent, I get non realistic materials. If anyone has any sample of translucent plastics in light colors that look realistic I would really appreciate being able to copy their material properties, I really have to get back to designing. Thanks in advance, Art Carr

I've always had better luck using the metals to create all of my materials, even painted surfaces or translucent surfaces. If you make all of the surfaces "metal matte" or "metal polish" and then use the "Advanced" button to change the color, that may give you what you are looking for.

I'm new to this, and am trying to create various plastic pipes. Is it possible to make them translucent? so that the objects inside can be seen? TIA Derek
