Hi, I'm wondering if anyone knows why the screen goes black when Shark starts. I'm feeling that it's a incompatibility with the graphics card that is reset each time it starts. I have a HP 64bit laptop PC with a radeon HD6770M graphics card. Perhaps there's something I can do something in the settings to fix it. It doesn't happen with an other software I start.

Yeah, it's switching into the Open GL mode (instead of the usual Direct X mode).

Shark disables the Windows Aero desktop during startup for ensuring a reliable OpenGL graphics output.

You may want check for the recent Radeon Catalyst video driver too.

Thanks for the reply. I was mainly curious why it didn't happen with any other software. But this answers my question and I assume it's nothing to worry about. I assume I'm not losing any performance.

I also use TurboCAD, which does the same thing (with a "Aero theme is disabled because it yada yada yada" message) when render modes are started, but not when started in wireframe.
