Frequently in section views the lines change layers and disappear. Then I have to find them on the different layer and move them back. It keeps happening though and it's kind of a pain.

Is there any chance that you previously selected geometry that you moved to some layer by right-clicking and then selecting on "change selected objects to this layer?", but then decided to move yet other geometry to another layer, using the same method? In other words, the stuff that you did not want moved, did it end up on a layer you prevuiously moved things to?

If so, it may be the case that you did not release previously selected geometry before moving other stuff. At least, that is what i am going through in VCP 7 simply because i am much more intensively shifting stuff to different layers. I realized that VCP cummulatively collects stuff when right-clicked via the Concept Explorer "select objects in layer" way. I figured out that if i click in the modeling space, VCP unselects stuff that it had keptmhold of. This is usefulmif you want to quickly collect stuff and eventuall get a lot of stuff onto a particular layer with less clicking. But, it is frustrating to not catch that in the manual.

Apologies if your matter is different from mine.

I think it's different. It happens on it's own when the drawing views are regenerated. I have to go through the layers to find where they've gone and where they go seems totally random. After I've found them I put them back on the right layer until the next regeneration.
