I have discovered in shark that when I turn on or activate layers the display flashes and the screen changes to solid view.

Hi Mark,
Any more clues on this one?
I created some objects and put each in a separate layer. I then set my display to wireframe. Using the layer manager, I then turned on and off layers.
Is that similiar to the steps you are doing to get this problem?

Mark, are you on a PC or a Mac? Because you may have a graphic card issue. (Perhaps?) Generally I have had little problems with Shark and VC running on Mac OS X, even with the really basic Intel 950 internal cpu graphics, I get really good results, but on the PC, it seems a different story, and although solids visually rotate better, my Compaq laptop running XP SP2, locks up a lot when running either application. Can you try it on another computer ( I am of course assuming that you are using a PC?)

I tried again and it didn't happen. I've been having a few issues that come and go related to the display. I have problems selecting parts while in wireframe and at different times when I hold the shift key the rotate view icon appears. It goes away when I save and switch to shaded view. I am running shark on a pc laptop. I'm not sure at the moment what graphics card it has.
