Hi folks,
i just asked myselfe if it would be possible to create organic looking objects like the one shown in the image here. The idea is to start with an solid or a face based model but i have no idea if something like this can be achived in an affordable time?
Thanks for your ideas!
Regards Carsten

Hi Carsten, that can be easily done with polygon modelers and by applying a simple Voronoi structure. Once you have that you bevel the edges and remove the other faces. Regards Stefan

Hi Stefan, thanks for yur reply. So this sounds more like a case for Blender or things like that. Bad, as Blender has quiet a steep learning curve and 3DS max is not available on mac. But thanks for the answer. I hoped that there would be a way to accomplish this in Shark FX Pro. Have a great day! Carsten (also Germany :-)

Hi Carsten,
in case of NURBS people did lot's of Voronoi stuff with Rhino and Grasshopper. But unfortunately
there is no Grasshopper for Shark. But the good thing is you don't need Blender to do such things.
Check out the links Horst provided, which should give you a starting point. I am on a Mac as well
and i did many Voronoi things in the past without ever using Blender for that. I attach a small .pdf
in German language which i did many years ago, where you can see how to create a Voronoi
volume mesh (so that the model has also inner cells) with Houdini Apprentice. Maybe this serves
you as a starting point.
Best regards
Stefan
P.S. i did also Voronoi stuff with NURBS (MoI3D and the help of other tools) which you can see
if you click on my www link below.

Hi,
Unfortunately Shark is rather not suitable for designers and conceptualists. And I do not see development in this direction. More flexible 3D tools like MOI or formZ are more interesting for designers.
To create voronoi pattern, you can use the 3th software or excellent online generators. For example:
