I have tried several ways to figure out how to sweep more than one closed profiles along the same path but cant figure out how to do this.
Any helps?

I don't think it works with more than one closed path. A file or a pic would let us help you.

... it works, I have test it. But it would be much more helpful to be able to add a groupe of solid bodies to a central solid body (i.e. like a gear and its teeth). Thease must be added one by one. 72 times ;-( If it would be possible, I change the body to one layer and all teeth to an other layer. So I could select them all with one stroke for grouping and add the groupe also with one stroke to the body. I guess, all together no more than 10 mouse-clicks, so I have to do it 72 x 2 + x, round about 150 times. horst.w GER

You could extrude a 2D group of the gear profile instead of doing each tooth individually with the one rail sweep. The rail sweep is more for organic shapes. A gear is just a simple extrude.

... sorry, I can't pull up a group - that is the problem - but I have seen the group must have a covered surface, than it can be pulled up. Indead very easy! Thx. H.
