This is riddling me. When I'm using the dimensions tools, I don't see the number that shows the dimensions appear. Only lines.

1) Choose Horizontal Dimension tool
2) Click on the first point of a solid, then on second point.
3) A line appears on the edge of the solid after the second click
4) When dragging the selection away from the solid, using the Gripper, just three lines appear. Two vertical, one horizontal. No arrows, no number showing the width of the solid.

Same issue is with ViaCad v10 and v9. Now when I do this with v8 I have a third click after step 3. It will show the arrows and the width, then with the third click I set the distance from the object and it's done.

I've compared the Inspector settings, but they are all similar. What am I doing wrong?

This has happened to me before. Try zooming in on the midpoint of the horizontal
dimension line, and see if the number is there.
This usually happens when I draw a large object, and the dimension settings
are from a previous smaller drawing.
Just a guess, but give it a try.

Thanks, I tried it and you are absolutely right. I could enlarge it and now it's there. Do you know how to set the larger font as a default. Deselecting everything and changing the font to a larger size in the Inspector doesn't do it. It always will start with the small font. Also, curious that in v8 there are three clicks, where you can choose the distance, where in v9 and v10 there are two clicks and the line will appear on the edge of the solid.

I'm using Win10 and SharkFX, but I think both programs work the about the same.
Try to set your arrowheads, font and font size, offsets etc., BEFORE you even
start dimensioning anything, otherwise you have to constantly change every
dimension as you go.

Once the dimension is setup, right click on it and in the popup menu click on "Set Default".
