I am still learning this program. I have 2 parts -- (1) a threaded bolt and (2) a threaded nut. I need to check the mating of the threads so that I can adjust for tolerances. I can move the 2D and manually mate the threads, but I want to check how well the bolt will fit the nut. This can be done in Solidworks via an animation. I can't find similar animation capabilities in ViaCAD -- can someone point me in the right direction?

Don't fully understand what you are looking for, but if you do
a 'Split Solid' you can mate a bolt with a nut. It's not an
animation. This 1"-8 nut and bolt is from McMaster-Carr.
Could you post your file?

Would a Boolean between the bolt and a blank nut not take care of this for you?

Verify -> Interference will give you a solid which will show any overlap between the nut and the bolt. If there was no interference and you wanted to check the dimensions of the gap, then you will need to use an extra cylinder which is slightly bigger than the tread, and subtract both the nut and the bolt (or preferably copies) from the cylinder
