Hi,
I have designed a carve top guitar body and neck and am trying to do the final steps, subtracting the two pickup holes and neck cavity.
I have tried this with ViaCad Pro 9 and a trial version of Shark LT (both on a Mac). When I try to subtract the pickups I get 'edge split at one end: maybe coindicent geometries in input body. Trying to subtract the neck gives 'inconsistent face-body relationships'.
I thought this would be the easiest part of the project but I don't know where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Oscar

I tried a couple of things, noticed 2 Groups, deleted them. Rotated the Body 180
Deg. The parts will now subtract.
Must have something to do with the curvature of the top.
Try redrawing the body, and add the curvature after you subtract the other pieces.

Larry - Thank you so much. You showed me the answer, even though I had joined the two parts of the body (base and arch top) I needed to do undo that and subtract from each piece individually. Now I have the finished body and will try it in my CNC. Oscar
