Having put the model in the "Model to Sheet" feature, all circles, lines etc. in the drawviews are represented by samll straight lines.
This makes it very difficult to using snaps like EndPoint, Centre, Midpoint etc.
Although the dimension options recognize a circle (represented bij very much small straight line-pieces.
But the option "Put centre-mark" does not work. Also "Flat-ing" the vie does not help.
Is the an annoying habbit of ViaCAD or is there an option to avoid this?

Hi Javg

ViaCAD creates draw views with polylines not precise curves. If you select the whole circle or curve it will allow the centermark to be placed.

Still I find it annoying.
It means that the 2D function is hard to be used.
I have tried to do the 2D work in for instance DoubleCAD XT V5.
By converting it to another format. That works up a point where the basic lines and circles etc. are still in the solid part.
But also then a lot dimensioning is akward.
Converting the sheets in flatt'nd does not help.

Hi Javg

ViaCAD uses the PolyLine Method to create hidden line views in model to sheet where the results are line segments intersected with facetted bodies. I do some stuff where it trys to find the actual edge that created the line segment in some cases for dimensioning arcs/circles.

Shark LT and Shark FX add the Precise Curves Method to get highly accurate visible curves for 2D drawings. Encore licenses this technology from the CATIA drawing generation component. This trims arcs, circles, splines, lines etc to the NURB bodies providing a very precise hidden 2D drawing. However, the license fees required by Dassault prevents the technology from going into the ViaCAD products.

Yes, you should select the circle/curve..
