Using viaCAD 2D v9. Great program, but for me crashes on average once per hour.

Is there any log or crash report I can examine to try and determine what the problem is?

(I can'r re-create the crashes. They're fairly random, though often involve a mouse-click),

Windows 10.

Hi David

Windows logs are stored in the computer management screen.

Windows 8/10

-open file explorer and right click on “This PC” and select manage
-click the arrow next to event viewer
-click the arrow to expand Windows logs
-Click on applications

If you have a crash send to:

Hello Tim,

I have the same problem with Viacad 9.04 Build 1166 on OS X 10.8.5. Not as often as David Carson describes, but it happened twice the last two hours. I can not reproduce the crash, but I was working with the wall tool.
Is there a crash report on the Mac anywhere?

Best regards,
Tom.

Hi Tom

Mac provides a bit better crash report than PC. After a mac app crashes it will display a dialog box asking it you want to send the report. Click yes and copy and paste the report into an email to me.

Hi Tim,

only Viacad crashes completely, not the entire mac. And there is no crash report window.

I just got to a point, where I can reproduce a crash. Give me an email address and I can send the file with a description.

Best regards,
Tom.

If you are using El Capitan you can automatically send crash reports to application developers:

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click Privacy.

Click Diagnostics & Usage on the left.

Select “Send diagnostic & usage data to Apple.”

Select “Share crash data with app developers” to share crash data with app developers.

Diagnostic and usage information will be sent to Apple.

IRC Sharing crash data with app developers was added with E lCapitan.

Thanks Tom for the video, crash log, and sample file. This should now be fixed. I sent you a new 1172 DE build to confirm.
