Creating an assembly in ViaCAD 2D/3D V.6... (#2556)

WGH How are you doin', forum? :) I've created a few parts in the aforementioned program, and am now looking to assemble them together into a mechanism. I was wondering, what's the best method for doing so? I've no problem with rotating solids, but the accurate positioning of them in the 3D workspace is an issue for me. When I select a solid, I don't have its X-, Y- and Z-coordinates, hence my inability to accurately set it in the 3D workspace. Also, when I try to move one of the curves that build the spoken solids, only the curve itself moves, excluding the solid "attached" to it. I tried adding solids together, etc. That doesn't seem to work either. How do you people do it? Thanks a ton in advance, guys! :) I'd appreciate any kind of response! Yours greatly and looking forward to hearing your thoughts, Arye Segal.

Hi Arye. In a copy of the file, and on a separate layer, try adding lines to serve as reference/alignment aides. Move or 'translate' the objects. Turn off and on the layers to hide ambiguities, then see whether you got what you expected.

@ZeroLength: Thought of doing exactly that, but just wanted to make sure there isn't some other, simpler method of doing these type of things. @ttrw: How are you, my friend? :) Oh boy, would this tool suit me right now, hehe... ;) Can't afford the extra $1500 or so, though... :( Guess I'd have to settle for drawing some guidelines... ;) Yours, Arye.

Err, Arye, these same tools exist within ViaCAD 2D/3D!

WTF@$%&5476 I'll be damned! How could I've missed THAT?! ttrw, you're my savior! :) The movie you've linked me to was showing things from SFX, so I thought you were being cynical or something... ;) Thanks A TON (!) for all the assistance, ttrw! Arye.
