Hi everybody, I would like to start setting up a BOM for every part I design, but I have not a clue on how to start this off. Also I would like to have some insight on how anybody would start showing a woodworking shop 's new employees on how to assemble the parts I am designing on paper. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

http://www.punchcadlabs.com/page3/page3.html there are some good videos also on youtube, look for viacad or shark
BTW: where is the videos page that was on the old concepts webpage?

When I open the Attributes & BOM window, a lot of of the lines are greyed out & I cannot fill them in. I have the full blown version of Shark FX, so I don't understand why I cannot access these

Hi Roger, Are you first selecting the item, and then clicking Apply to Selected or any of the other options?

Many of the fields on BOM window are calculated values and can not be edited directly, I assume that that ones you are talking about are data input that are calculated from object properties, like material, volume, weight, name,... and so, and that values are taken from the objects itself once you assign them material and name. check the objects properties command on Verify main menu, select an object, assign some material, then open BOM window, select the object again and hit "Apply to selected" and see how those fields are self filled.

Luis, Thank you, that does solve a few issues. But its to bad that all that work is not automatically put into the Title Block. That would be so much easier.
