I have only just downloaded the viacad software. At first on my iMac, then on my MacBook.
On the iMac, every time i try and insert a door or window into a wall, i get the error message "not enough room for wall feature"
On my MacBook it seems to be working OK though....
Any suggestions?

Hi Rich

That usually means you are placing the door/window too close to a corner or that the door/window width is longer then the wall width.

Hi Tim

Im now experiencing the same problems on my MacBook

I jut draw a 13' wall and tried to put a 2'6 door in the middle and the same error code comes up. it also won't let me put doors in the drawing i managed to draw them into earlier.... very annoying.
i don't know if its an 'angle' problem. the angle is saying 3937.008?? I've tried changing this but still no luck

Hi Richard

Can you upload your viacad file to the forum?

I'll make a quick .mov demo showing how to add door/window to your layout.

I am having the exact same door and window problem. "Too close" error as well as many crashes. Not too useful.

Does anybody use the architectural features?

I also notice that the walls do not automatically connect like they should.

A minor point is that I also miss the "option" command for flipping the side the wall is generated on. I asked Todd and he did not know when that feature was deleted.

an old bug, if I remind correct this happens if the unit prefs differs from inches or millimeters, i.e. problem happens if using feets or meters etc.

Thanks for the note.

I will play with it to see if there is a pattern. I sure miss the "flipping" walls!

I also notice that walls do not "self heal" . Placing another intersecting wall heals, but still not very clean.
