For tablet use with the tool palette against the right edge of the screen, tearing off toolbars needs to be made to work from right-to-left. For right-handed tablet users, the right-side edge is the natural position for the tool palette because the tab's being held by the left-hand side. The palette has to be moved away from the RH edge to make tear-offs work, an annoyance that makes them counterproductive.
