Hi

I am having problems drawing accurately with ViaCAD Pro due to the display of curves.

For example in the attached image I have trimmed the vertical line using the curve as a boundary and it looks on screen to be a long way away from where it actually is. This makes it very difficult to draw things accurately as the visual side of ViaCAD shows something quite different.

Is there a trick to showing curves accurately ? In autocad you would do a regen but the r command in ViaCAD does nothing as far as I can tell.

you need to change the resolution of the curves to even distribution. and yes the redraw command does not work or at least I have not found a thing it does.

Thanks RR, that works Ok although it really slows the workflow down having to do this for each and every curve drawn.

Hopefully a type of AutoCAD regen can be incorporated into ViaCAD in future releases.

You can set the default curve resolution (resolution for new curves) in the preferences dialog box.

Preferences : Display : ObjectType=Curve : Resolution=Very Fine

You can also override what Very Fine is by changing:

Preferences : Custom Resolution : Very Fine : Curve Angle=6

I've made a note of these tips for all my ViaCAD work.

The majority of my work is surfaces and splines so good to know how to get them to display nicely on screen.
