i have a curve (it resembles a boomerang shape, not regular or symmetrical) and i would like to create lines at three inch intervals along the curve. the lines start on the curve and extend to perpendicular to the curve at all of my points. how can i do this?

Use the Points Along Curve tool to distribute the points. Use verify length to determinate qty which will yield the length between. Offset the curve. Then use rubber band line tool. Press mouse over the offset curve and drag out until you get "perpendicular". Release over a point that you previously put on the original curve.
