It is time for me to upgrade (What one ? )
I did ask before I have ViaCad-6 I would like to go into shark
but what one.I us it for my cabinet program I send STL into the cab.program
and I send DXF and STL into my big building program for the customers custom homes I design and my Punch AS5000.
I would like to more in the rending end?
Is there one will put wood grain in the rendering or would I have to make my own grain in what ever I am making?
Thank You all
Redss

When I upgrade, I will most likely go to the top, ie from VC6 to SFX6. In my experience, in order for render results to look exactly how I want, you MUST use your own images. You can take these with a camera or phone, but they must be your own.

I ordered ViaCAD Pro 6 for WinXP from Amazon. It was a good price. If it does NURBS better than Amapi Pro 7.5, I'd say that was an upgrade. I have various 3D programs for rendering.

Hi Redss,
The current renderer in shark FX is (IMHO) quite limited. Download the
latest version to check out yourself -.
There may be improvements made to the renderer in version 6 (they may even get a correct perspective mode/view ) , but currently there are better (even free) alternatives for rendering.

FWIW, I use Cheetah3D for rendering. Mac only mind. :)

I use Vue Infinite, modo, Carrara, and IDX Renditioner Express. Renditioner is a very good free renderer for the free SketchUp. There is a free version of Vue called Pioneer I believe. But it adds a logo on the screen. Carrara is sometimes free in various 3D magazines.
modo is not free, but it does the best.
I just looked. It's called Vue 7.5 Personal Learning Edition that's free forever. Just export your models as OBJ into Vue and texture them for rendering.
