Hello Everyone, I'm new with ViaCAD and CAD in general, I already worked in 3d for years but without this way of thinking. Currently I'm working with the 2D design and interface in order to understand it. I tried to use the function "OFFSET TO VALUE": I have a joined and closed curve composition and I want to create a offset of 2mm So I take the "Offset to Value" command and I create a larger version of my track. The problem is that every corner become rounded. I'd like to have them not rounded but normal. Is there a way to achieve this? Thanks, and have a nice day! F

I'd try it with open curves. Don't close them first. It can do some weird things if they are closed curves.

This is no problem, if you want edges press just Ctrl at the same time when you click for the offset direction. It works also when you press Ctrl before u select curves and release ctrl after click for direction. But if you want selecting multiple curves fith the Shift-Key, you should press CTRL only when select offset direction location.
Watch the Tool hints in the big Prompt, and Data Entry Window .

Ok, I tried. :D It worked using CTRL and open curves. I can't make it work with a jointed curves form. Is it correct ? But is there a way to decide the corner radius ? It's pretty strange that it's everything automatic.

It saves drawing a line to offset from. If you wanted to put a hole
a certain distance on a rounded surface you could mark the spot.
Or cut out a section, might be useful.
