Is there not am assembly function like on solid works that allows me to assemble different parts i have saved in different files into to one file assembled? I made a few different parts but cant seem to find a way to assemble them. Im using Shark LT V8. Thanks Dylan

Dylan You will have to import all the parts into the same file and then build the assembly. Suggest putting each part on a separate layer. Regards Jason

I have tried a similar thing using referenced parts. The assembly tools don't appear to work for referenced parts although you can move the parts around. If you use imported parts, the assembly tools work. Is this by design or a bug? Regards Lance

Can you elaborate on the assembly tools? I'm not familiar with a tool that does assembly, what ever that is. The reference manager does allow you to attach the file and becomes part of the current file.

                From the menu:
Modify -> Advanced Transform -> Assembly
A tool palette appears which allows options such as:
Connection
Mate face
Align face
Insert face
These operations can be performed on solids inside the drawing but not on referenced parts - they just don't select.
Regards
Lance
