Shark V5

I tried to set up the shortcuts I have used for years in Cobalt rather than retrain to new shortcuts in a new shortcuts file. I found a toggle for shading/wireframe and called it w. It worked fine. I tried other shortcuts: t for simple trim, e for simple edit, W for page layout, c for change layer, C for chain select (this one doesen't work), r for redraw, and a few others. They all worked fine in a junk drawing I created for testing them.

I saved the test drawing as JUNK, quit shark and trashed the JUNK drawing. When I reopen shark, my new shortcut file is selected in shortcuts, but none of them work. I tried to reset the toggle for shading/wireframe and can't even find it in the listing.

What am I doing wrong?

Was or is your caps lock on? I believe shortcuts are case sensitive.

Yup.

Shortcuts are not saved with the file but in an ini file so that these settings are preserved from session to session.

If it was not a key cap issue, try resetting your shortcuts. There is a button for this in the short cut manager.

I tried reset to factory and redid the shortcuts. Same Result:(
How can I set:
Shift-a (A) for show all
s for side view
d for top view
f for front view
g for isometric view
b for bottom view
Shift-b (B) for back view
q for selection tool
Shift-w (W) for Page Layout
CMD-z for undo
CMD-a for select all
w to toggle between wire frame and shaded view
Shift-s (S) to select draw in side plane
Shift-d (D) to select draw in top plane
Shift-f (F) to select draw in front plane

Seems most of these are not supported.

Couple of things to try:
Check the permissions on the SFXShortcuts.ini file that should be in User / Library / Preferences / Punch! / Shark FX
Permissions should be: User Read & Write, all others read only.

If you still have problems you can hack the SFXShortcuts.ini file by opening it in TextEdit, and typing the shortcuts that you need by hand. However this is risky, as you have to know exactly what to type, and make sure to not overwrite the systems built in shortcuts. For example the 'c' (lowercase) is reserved for flipping the work plane when you click on an endpoint, surface, or edge. Similarly, e is view all, and w defines a view window (press w, then click top left of where you want your window view to be and drag to bottom right) Some of the other keys you want to change are also system defaults which might be the problem.

OS X 9.5
