Thank you. This is the little tute I had written for myself.

BRIANS SOLUTION
With the Grid and appropriate View selected, open a new active layer.
Import the image.
Do a normal Top L to Bottom R selection.
Click on the Vertex which will appear near the corner.
Drag to the required location under the grid, Size if applicable.
Select the "Display Hidden Line" icon (in displays group near bottom of Tools) if the grid goes behind the image.
