Hi all,

I've attached a file I'm working on where I need to intersect the planes to create a line, then I need a point on that line. So I want a draw a circle normal to curve (on one of the planes)
Every time I click draw circle normal to curve, and click the point on the plane it crashes. Both in VC pro and Shark.

Any help please?

First Time you should trim your Splines, but i miss a trimming tool which keep all Lines and delete nothing, just splitting at a point. This tool was sometimes removed i guess. Only the splitting in several parts with same length is available. Therefore you must make a copy of your Curve and Trimming the copy to keep the original curve for trimming the next part. The infinite planes are useless and i cant select them when using Arcs from Curves.I don't know wether your curves are full 3d , If not, better to use Cad Kas Splines in arcs for converting splines in arcs. instead of Arcs from Curve.

Please use the correct names of the tools that anybody can find them. This tool u used have the name Arcs from Curve.

Eh? The powerpack manual says you can use circle normal to curve and shows it can go on a curve and draw circles?

But you should anyway trimmng your curves first.

Well the file has plans on the curve, and drawing a circle allows me to pick the vertex on the plane/curve intersection so I don't see a need to trim the curve?

Yeah I see there are options to draw a circle on a curve. You can put a plane on it, work plane on it, numerous other options I'd imagine, but PowerPack provides a direct approach and it crashes the program.

Thanks for the assistance so far. I've not tried it on anything simple like a straight line yet. I've had to use work arounds many times before because functions don't behaave as they say.

This error is only power pack related and should be reported. Hoping Tim Olson reading this thread.

Cheers, I also want to see if anyone else has the error either with the attached file or anything they might be doing?

Cheers

Hi Jason,

So my end goal was to intersect two planes, and get a line. Then I need to intersect the line to get a point. So in my quest to get that far, I thought use the circle normal to curve option (powerpack) and then i can rotate the circle round and do what ever I need to do.

However I select circle normal to curve then as soon as I click on the vertex on the curve/plane intersection the program crashes.

Cheers

Repeated, found, and fixed in 1370 builds.

Thanks for the head up.
