I find I am using this program more and more for workshop drawings.
I like to detail my notes on the drawing for the guys.
So text entry shortcuts for today, has become my "Thing" :-)

So my idea for a tweak

At the moment
Copy text...
CTL C pull away with gripper. type in distance to move.
Click on text to highlight and modify
Click in text box, highlight text to modify.
Type new text

Proposal
Copy text...
CTL C pull away with gripper. type in distance to move.
Click on text.
"Text is automatically highlighted"
Start typing.
If you wish to keep the same text just use the arrow keys or mouse to deactivate the highlight.

Does this make sense to other users or am I just being OCD?

For the data entry window to activate you need to hit the Tab key after you click on the text.

This step is required to differentiate from a short cut key.

Tim

Copy text...
Click on text.
Hit Tab Key
Start typing.

Hello,
Like Maify I would appreciate an improvement of text edition...

I'm dreaming of direct typing in a text box, like in Illustrator, Word, Pages ... or even antique Vellum CAD !

Hi Tim
Thanks for the tip.
The tab key solution works fine for me.

Yes. Actually I don't use the "text box" because it is limited to 1 font, 1 size, 1 style and it is a bit awkward to use (not responding instantly)...
