I cannot seem to extrude text correctly using the extrude tool. Some letters will extrude fine, some not at all.
Some characters with apertures like A, B, O, etc. the aperture extrude rather than the letter. Some letters will not extrude at all, e.g lower case y in Arial font. I get a different letter problem depending on the chosen font.
I have ViaCad 3D v8.

Hello

What build of V8 are you using? The text extruded in my test. Maybe you can post a sample file?

Steps:

Create text
edit change object type - use curves
then extrude

Jason

Thank you Jason, I have it now. Selected edit text, clicked curves, which was already selected, and extruded successfully. I had to correct some gaps that showed when extrude tool was used but otherwise fine. I did not see anything mentioned in videos or tutorials that object type had to be changed.

Some PC fonts have small gaps in the text glyphs. I have been adding code to auto correct the gaps in some of the latest builds. Some fonts have loops which are harder to auto correct.
